Context: During my placement at Gilmour Space Technologies task of developing the Chainmail Tree Chart presented a significant experience that highlighted the importance of ethical conduct and professional accountability in the ICT industry.

Experience: As part of the WIL Placement, I was tasked with creating the Component Tree Chart, a critical visualization tool with dynamic data. This data was crucial for the development of certain features in the Chainmail tree chart project. However, it raised concerns about privacy, data security, and ethical conduct.

How I Dealt with the Situation: I approached this situation with a strong commitment to ethical conduct and professional accountability. Here's how I handled it:

1. Dummy Data Usage: During the prototyping phase, I ensured that any dummy data used was entirely fictional and not linked to any real-world data or individuals. This safeguarded against any inadvertent misuse of sensitive information.
2. Live Data Transition: When transitioning to live data from the database, I worked closely with the data management team to ensure that all data handling and integration followed best practices for security and privacy. This involved encrypting sensitive information, implementing access controls, and adhering to the organization's data handling policies.
3. Data Minimization: I implemented a data minimization approach, only collecting and using the data necessary for the specific task. Unnecessary data was not stored or processed.

What I Did Well: I believe I handled this situation well in terms of:

• Ethical Considerations: The use of dummy data and the subsequent transition to live data raised ethical considerations related to data privacy, integrity, and security. Handling sensitive data irresponsibly could have severe professional and ethical implications.
